Donald Trump has taken a great deal of heat over his twitter attack on civil rights legend Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), and now former Oklahoma Republican Sen. Tom Coburn has joined current lawmakers, telling CNN’s New Day that Trump’s tweets about Lewis were not ‘presidential.’
Trump, it will be remembered, said of Lewis, “All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!”
“We’ve seen this pattern throughout his entire campaign to where he controls the talking points by using Twitter to counter someone’s assertion.
“I think it’s unfortunate that Congressman Lewis said that he’s not legitimate because there’s no basis in fact for that. The point is at some point in time the president is going to have to turn to become more presidential and that’s not presidential.”
One can agree to disagree with Coburn as to whether Lewis’ comments are backed up by fact, there is no disputing that Donald Trump, far from acting presidential, refuses to behave in even an adult manner when he picks up his smartphone and begins to tweet.
