The Walls Are Closing In On Trump As FBI Agrees With CIA That Russia Helped Him Win

The FBI and the Director of National Intelligence have joined with the CIA in agreeing with the conclusion that Russia interfered with the US election to help Donald Trump.

The Washington Post reported on a message from CIA Director John Brennan to the agency’s workforce:

Earlier this week, I met separately with (Director) FBI James Comey and DNI Jim Clapper, and there is strong consensus among us on the scope, nature, and intent of Russian interference in our presidential election,” CIA Director John Brennan said in a message to the agency’s workforce, according to U.S. officials who have seen the message.

“The three of us also agree that our organizations, along with others, need to focus on completing the thorough review of this issue that has been directed by President Obama and which is being led by the DNI,” Brennan’s message read.

During his press conference, President Obama directly stated that Russia was behind the hacks of the DNC and Clinton campaign chair John Podesta’s emails. The FBI, CIA, DNI, the White House, and prominent Congressional Republicans are all on board with the conclusion that Russia, at a minimum, interfered in the presidential election through hacking.

President-elect Donald Trump is on an island by himself with his continued defense of Russia and his dismissal of the potential Russian election interference as worthy of investigation.

A consensus in the US intelligence community that Russia interfered to help Trump changes the scope of the Congressional investigation. If it is agreed that Russia was trying to help Trump, the question becomes was the Trump campaign working with the Russians?

If it is determined that Trump worked with a foreign government to win an election, he should either not be allowed to assume office, or removed from office.

The bad news for Trump is that the Russia scandal is not going away, and the evidence that Russia interfered is only growing stronger. The walls are closing in on the president-elect, and if he continues to oppose the investigation, it could destroy his presidency.
