Poor Donald Trump. He is so misunderstood, what with all those people accurately quoting him and fact-checking his every statement for accuracy. You know, because he lies all the time. So Trump tweeted this morning in defense of all his tweeting, claiming that the media won’t cover him accurately so he’s forced to tweet:
If the press would cover me accurately & honorably, I would have far less reason to "tweet." Sadly, I don't know if that will ever happen!

This is probably meant to be an excuse for his failure to hold a press conference since this summer too. If so, it doesn’t work. It is remarkable that Trump would prefer to face constant ridicule for his unhinged all-hours tweeting at imagined provocations.
And his excuse here doesn’t begin to explain why, if he must tweet, why he sounds so unhinged and divorced from reality. And let’s face it: it’s just as easy to quote a tweet as it is a speech.
An easy remedy to his media woes – one that would benefit not only Trump but all Americans – would be honesty: simply tell the truth for a change. Rely on facts rather than propaganda and wishful thinking.
Sadly, to quote Donald Trump, I don’t know if that will ever happen!
