GOP Congressman Plays The Race Card With Claim Charlotte Protesters Hate White People

Republicans are playing the race card as Rep. Robert Pittenger (R-NC) claimed that the Charlotte protesters hate white people.

Video:

Rep. Pittenger said, “The grievance in their minds – the animus, the anger – they hate white people because white people are successful, and they’re not,” said Pittenger, who then went on to criticize people who receive welfare. It is a welfare state. We have spent trillions of dollars on welfare, and we’ve put people in bondage, so they can’t be all they’re capable of being.”

Pittenger followed up his remarks with a statement that blamed the protesters for what he said, “What is taking place in my hometown right now breaks my heart. My anguish led me to respond to a reporter’s question in a way that I regret. The answer doesn’t reflect who I am. I was quoting statements made by angry protestors last night on national TV. My intent was to discuss the lack of economic mobility for African-Americans because of failed policies. I apologize to those I offended and hope we can bring peace and calm to Charlotte.”

The only way that Pittenger’s comments could have been more racist would have been if there was a cross on fire behind him.

White Republicans, especially in the South, have been emboldened by Donald Trump , and they are trying to use the protests in Charlotte as a get out the vote issue for their racially intolerant base.

The reason why people are protesting is because African-Americans are being shot by law enforcement officers at an alarming rate. Americans of all races want the shoot first ask questions later when the person is not white mentality to stop.

Republicans aren’t trying to deny it. They are using racism to win an election, which is why the contest in 2016 is about more than elective office. 2016 is also the year that Republicans have decided to try to tear apart the fabric of American society.

After years of accusing President Obama, Republicans are playing the race card.
