Donald Trump has let the Republican Party know that he is refusing to change at all and that they are completely screwed with him at the top of the ballot.
In an interview with WKBT in Wisconsin, Trump rejected all calls for him to change.
Video:
Trump was asked if he needed to change up his tactics to appeal to the general election public, and his answer showed just how screwed Republicans really are.
Trump said, “Well, possibly I do, but you know, I am who I am. It’s me. I don’t want to change. Everyone talks about oh, you have to pivot. I don’t want to pivot. You have to be you. If you start pivoting, you’re not being honest with people, and cause I’ve heard this over the years with politics, with general politics, but also having to do with me. No. I am who I am. I’ve gotten here in a landslide, and we’ll see what happens. I mean in the end, don’t forget when I lost Wisconsin, it was over for Trump. Except for one problem, I then went on a very good run, but I am who I am.”
Donald Trump isn’t going to change. When a teleprompter speech is placed in front of him, he will read the speech in the lowest energy way possible. Trump doesn’t like reading his speeches, and he makes sure that everyone knows it when he has to read one.
The Republicans are screwed. Trump has flat out rejected changing, and the GOP now has a choice, either they stick with Trump and potentially lose everything, or they cut their nominee lose and try to save their majorities in the House and Senate.
Either way, it looks like the Republican Party is going to lose.
