Trump Issues Ugly Promise To America That We Will See Joni Ernst Again

Still on his VP search (will he have more luck than he’s had finding speakers for the convention?) Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday morning that “It was great spending time with @joniernst yesterday. She has done a fantastic job for the people of Iowa and U.S. Will see her again!”

Tea Party lovin’, women’s right to choose hatin’ Ernst agreed. She told Fox News it was a “good conversation,” and that she would somehow “continue to share my insights with Donald about the need to strengthen our economy, keep our nation safe, and ensure America is always a strong, stabilizing force around the globe.”

How she will manage that after Trump destroys the world economy will be a neat trick. Stay tuned.

Millions of Americans just experienced a sinking feeling in their stomachs. This is the same Joni Ernst who has basically said she would like to preside over, on behalf of the Kochs, the eradication of the United States government. You know, the one established by the United States Constitution but terribly inconvenient to the oligarchs of America’s 1 Percent.

It’s a match made in heaven, with the emphasis on “heave.” No wonder Trump likes her. There is literally no surprise to be had. She’s a slightly more intelligent, or at least articulate, version of Sarah Palin. So a less stale Palin, perhaps?

She also called President Obama an “apathetic dictator” which is really a pretty neat trick, managing to be what is basically a disinterested authoritarian, one you would presume therefore to be too lazy to bother being a dreaded strongman. I did mention the Palin connection, right?

Ernst, who voters sent to DC because she “grew up castrating hogs” and promised to make Washington’s big spenders “squeal,” has instead made us all squeal by having to listen to her mangled usage of what is supposed to be her first language. Who can forget the “bread bags” on feet reference from her SOTU rebuttal?

Again, I did mention Sarah Palin. I did say slightly more articulate.

Imagine that dynamic duo of Trump and Ernst leading our country into the pockets of the 1 Percent. The Kochs don’t like Trump. He wasn’t their guy. But you know they’d find a way to share the wealth once he was in a position to sell Yellowstone to them, or maybe the Grand Canyon.

Trump says Ernst has done a fantastic job. But then Trump also says the Star of David is a sheriff’s star.
