Hillary Clinton Has a Devastatingly Simple Slogan to Beat Donald Trump

Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton came out with a devastatingly simple slogan to use against Donald Trump: “Love trumps hate”.

This might seem like nothing, but after decades of Democrats getting beaten by Republicans over simple, meaningless bumper sticker slogans, it is actually a big deal.

Democrats are learning how to craft a simple message and this one is gold. Bonus points for not capitalizing “trumps”, even while punning elevation of the reality TV show “star” should be avoided.

Democrats have come a long way from being beaten by the fear-mongering of the Bush years. In fact, this message is the opposite. It implores people to operate at their highest level instead of sinking into a pit of fear and despair.

Donald Trump is selling “Make America Great Again!” to the KKK crowd and those who long for days gone by, but Obama showed that the message of hope is strong. America is already great. Legislating bigotry won’t make it better. The only way America is going to grow and improve is by evolving with the times.

Elections are about messaging. They aren’t really about policies, even though they should be. Americans have a choice between the the lost little rich boy who uses racism to fool voters or the self-made woman who has been fighting for human rights her entire career. There are a lot of people who don’t want to stand with a blatant racist or bigot, even if they lean conservative.

Donald Trump is a throwback to hate. Hillary Clinton has the rhetoric and the platform to back it up of inclusion and compassion.
