During an interview on ABC’s This Week, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) continued to dismantle the Republican frontrunner by doing the media’s job for them and calling out Donald Trump’s lies.

RADDATZ: You had some very harsh words for Donald Trump recently and you said you wanted to stay away from personal attacks —
SANDERS: Yes.
RADDATZ: — in this campaign.
SANDERS: Right.
RADDATZ: Some of the things you’ve said, like calling him a pathological liar, have been pretty personal.
SANDERS: Yes. The truth is I do not get inv — engaged in personal attacks, but Trump really is over the edge. He has attacked me very ferociously and has called me a liar because I point that out, that nobody else has seen on television thousands of Muslims celebrating the destruction of the Twin Towers.
Time after time, this guy just comes up with things off the top of his head — that are lies. And somebody has got to say that he is a pathological liar.
Sen. Sanders was correct. Trump is making it up as he goes along, and nobody in the media wants to slaughter what the view as the 2016 ratings golden goose. The other Republican presidential candidates are too terrified of Trump to take him on, so that leaves the top two Democratic presidential candidates to fact check and call out Trump’s lies.
Once again, the task of being the reality-based party that keeps the majority of the country safe from right-wing insanity has fallen to the Democrats. Bernie Sanders has gone after Trump because the Republican front runner is not being truthful about anything.
Trump has repeatedly personally attacked the credibility and character of the Democratic candidate, so Sanders, unlike the quivering weak-kneed collective mass of Jello on the Republican side, is willing to take on the blowhard bully and fire back.
Bernie Sanders is holding both Trump and the enabling corporate media accountable. The reason he will lose if he becomes the Republican nominee is that Democrats have no fear of Donald Trump.
