RADDATZ: The National Review reported this week that you made a promise to the House Freedom Caucus that you will not bring immigration reform legislation to the House floor while President Obama is in office.

RYAN: Yeah, I think he’s proven untrustworthy on this issue. He tried to go around Congress with an Executive Order to rewrite laws unilaterally. Presidents don’t write laws. Congress writes laws. So yes, I do not believe we should and we won’t bring immigration legislation with a president we cannot trust on this issue. If we believe and have consensus on things like border enforcement, and interior security, then that’s fine.

President Obama’s executive orders have nothing to do with the House passing an immigration reform bill. As the President has stated on numerous occasions, the executive orders go away as soon as he signs an immigration reform bill. Paul Ryan was lying to the American people.

Ryan used an attack on President Obama’s character to dodge a question related to whether or not he has cut a deal with the far-right extremists in the House. It is clear from Speaker Ryan’s answer that he made some sort of agreement not to bring up the popular and bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform bill in the House.

Paul Ryan quickly demonstrated that he is also owned and operated by the extremists in the House Republican caucus. It is Ryan’s job as Speaker of the House to do the people’s business, and people want immigration reform.

Ryan is already beginning his speakership by not doing his job and blaming President Obama the Republican refusal to pass legislation. In other words, Paul Ryan is behaving just like John Boehner.

Meet the new speaker, same as the old speaker.

Nothing has changed with House Republicans.
