Democrats Turn Up The Heat By Forcing GOP To Vote On Killing Benghazi Committee

House Democrats are putting more pressure on Republicans by forcing them to vote on abolishing the bogus Benghazi Committee.

According to The Hill:

House Democrats on Wednesday will try to force a vote on abolishing the Select Committee on Benghazi, in a continued effort to seize on recent comments from No. 2 House Republican Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).

Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday moved ahead with a procedural effort known as a privileged resolution that will force the House to take a vote on killing the panel. The vote is expected later this week.

Republicans are completely on the defensive about the Benghazi Committee. Benghazi Select Committee Chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy criticized Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy on Morning Joe, “Kevin has apologized as profusely as a human being can apologize. I went back and watched the interview, and what I tell folks back home, no matter how many times you put an earpiece in your ear and stare at a camera, you still screw up. And Kevin screwed up.”

From the ethics complaint against Rep. Kevin McCarthy to pressuring for votes, there is a coordinated Democratic strategy at work to expose the Committee for what it really is.

The questions that Democrats are raising are shaping the perception of Hillary Clinton’s testimony before the Select Committee on October 22. Republicans were hoping to use her testimony as a platform to criticize and bring down the likely Democratic nominee.

The Democratic pressure tactics are working. Republicans are being forced to defend their strategy that was supposed to put Democrats on the defensive. Democrats have listened to Republicans use the deaths of four Americans for political purposes for years.

Majority Leader McCarthy finally gave Democrats the opening that they needed, and now House Democrats are pushing back.
