House Republican Claims That President Obama Is Begging The GOP To Impeach Him

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX) is claiming that President Obama actually wants Republicans to impeach him so that Democrats will avoid losing the election in November.

In an interview with World Net Daily, Rep. Steve Stockman said, “President Obama is begging to be impeached. For all I know, Obama is preparing to process 5 million illegal immigrant kids and teenagers into the United States. He wants us to impeach him now, before the midterm election because his senior advisers believe that is the only chance the Democratic Party has to avoid a major electoral defeat. Evidently Obama believes impeachment could motivate the Democratic Party base to come out and vote.”

Stockman’s big solution to the border crisis is for Congress to shut down the White House, “The only way we’re going to stop Obama from opening the border is to take away the money he needs to operate. What we should do is shut down the White House.”

It should be noted that Rep. Stockman concocted his scenario based on a theory that he invented. Facts and reality are nowhere to be found. In a bit of jaw-dropping hypocrisy, Stockman gave his interview to a website and a writer who have been pushing for Obama impeachment for years. All of the impeachment talk has been generated by the Republican Party. John Boehner threatened Obama with impeachment in January. Impeachment is the favorite fantasy of the Republican Party. Republicans have wanted to impeach Obama from day one, and those feelings only intensified after the president won reelection in 2012.

Last year, Michele Bachmann called for the impeachment of President Obama by claiming that the president has been making impeachable actions since he came into office. The White House hasn’t begged for the president to be impeached. They have been speaking the truth about the motives behind John Boenher’s lawsuit against President Obama.

Republicans are trying to blame Obama for their own desire to impeach him. They can’t find an impeachable offense, so they are ready to claim that they will impeach the President Of The United States because he wants them to. The Republican reasoning is childish. Their logic is non-existent, and facts don’t back up anything that they are saying.

The truth is that Democrats led on the generic congressional ballot in three major polls last week. Control of the Senate is looking like a 50/50 tossup. There is no wave building for the Republican Party. In fact, it is more than possible that the 2014 election ends up maintaining the status quo with Republicans controlling the House and Democrats maintaining the Senate.

Republicans overplayed their hand with the Boehner lawsuit. They took it one step too far, and Democrats know a good thing when they see it. The country doesn’t want Obama impeached, and no amount of excuse making about how the impeachment talk is all Obama’s fault can get the Republicans out of the very deep hole that they have dug for themselves.

The GOP is screwed and they have their own obsession with impeaching President Obama to blame for their troubles.
