Jeb Bush Crashes and Burns Already as His Name Gets Booed By Conservatives

Last updated on July 17th, 2023 at 06:05 pm

The whole Jeb Bush as GOP savior thing isn’t going so well, as the mere mention of W’s bro brought about boos and groans from one of the nation’s largest gatherings of conservatives.

Video:

The boos began when Donald Trump mentioned Jeb Bush’s name at the Freedom Summit in New Hampshire, and grew louder when Trump said, “He was talking about people that come into this country illegally. They do it for love. And I said say it again. I didn’t get — that’s one I’ve never heard of before,” Trump said. “I’ve heard money, I’ve heard this, I’ve heard sex, I’ve heard everything! The one thing I never heard of was love. I understand what he’s saying, but, you know, it’s out there, I’ll tell you.”

The Bush family may be political royalty within the establishment GOP, but Jeb’s already got two big strikes against him with deranged Fox News watching crowd. To the tea party crowd his last name means that he is too insider and establishment, and his idea that all illegal immigrants shouldn’t be rounded up and tossed back over the border has drawn ridicule and scorn from the tea damaged right.

If Jeb Bush runs, he will find out that this isn’t the same Republican Party that his brother led nearly a decade ago. The right wing activists are showing Jeb Bush the same disdain that they have demonstrated for Chris Christie. It’s clear that if the tea partiers are running the show in 2016, someone like Ted Cruz is what they are dreaming of putting at the top of the ticket.

What we are seeing is the far right fringe sinking any Republican who would have a chance to win in 2016. If a Bush or Christie is the Republican nominee, support from the right wing activists will be lukewarm at best.

Jeb Bush was the punchline of national joke Donald Trump. That’s really all one needs to know about his chances in 2016.
