Rush Limbaugh claimed that the same Republicans who have spent years launching raced based attacks on the president will never impeach Obama because he is black.

LIMBAUGH: You know, I get kind of disappointed because there’s still so many people on our side — and I understand it — just hoping at some point, because, you know, you want right to triumph. You want wrong to lose. You want wrong to take it on the chin. And you want what’s right to triumph, like we think it used to. And I can’t tell you the number of people who are really hoping that the media will have no choice but than to turn on Obama on Benghazi and the IRS, and, folks, it just isn’t gonna happen, for a whole host of reasons. The racial component is, in one sense, in terms of removing from office as in impeachment, never gonna happen. You can erase it from your chalkboard of possibilities.
According to Limbaugh the same party that has spent five years doubting President Obama’s birth certificate, and claiming that President of the United States was actually born in Kenya is going to see impeachment as a line that they won’t cross because of the color of Obama’s skin. The same Republican Party that has called for Obama to be impeached for everything from the BP oil spill to his refusal to extend the Bush tax cuts is going to somehow no longer view impeachment as a viable option.
This is the same party that has made jokes about the First Lady’s appearance, and prominently featured a candidate for their 2012 nomination that delighted the GOP masses by referring to President Obama as the food stamp president. The Republican Party’s entire strategy of flaming hostility towards this president has always contained a “racial component.” Not even Limbaugh can sell the idea that Republicans would refuse to impeach Obama because they fear racial fallout.
The sick and sad fact of the matter is that if they could many Republicans would impeach Obama for presidenting while black. To some in the Republican Party, President Obama’s biggest crime will always be the fact that he is a black man in the White House.
