At first Glenn Beck compared ACORN to Nazis, then he worried that ACORN was coming to break his kneecaps, but things went to a whole new level today on his Fox News show. Beck suggested that ACORN would try to kill him. Yes, Glenn Beck is concerned that a voter registration organization might try to kill him.
Here is the video courtesy of Media Matters:
Beck claimed that Marcel Reid, the Washington D.C. ACORN chair is in danger just like he is. He added, “By the way if I ever am in a weird car incident or I commit suicide or something, after the media stops celebrating my death, could they check into it because I am a pretty good driver and I am not suicidal.” When did ACORN go from being a left wing voter registration group to a death squad?
This paranoid ACORN obsession of his is actually pretty funny. Heaven help anyone who approaches Glenn Beck on the street and asks him if he would like to register to vote. Glenn would probably run straight home to panic room and not come out for a day and a half. Have you ever seen anyone who works for ACORN? They are about as intimidating as the teenager behind the cash register at your neighborhood McDonalds.
The reason why most news organizations don’t report on ACORN isn’t because of any physical danger. It is due to the fact that there is no story there. Republicans need something to be afraid of to get them through the day, and Glenn Beck has chosen ACORN as his own personal boogey man. It is always amusing to hear Republicans whine about voter fraud after what they did in 2000 and 2004, but this ACORN stuff is pure fantasy.
